Add a Little Holiday Cheer to Your Blog

Would you like to add some holiday cheer to your blog without changing your whole blog template? Holiday buttons are the ticket. Add one to your sidebar or wish your readers a Merry Christmas with just a button in your post that day (write it days before and schedule it to post on the special day).

Twitter Buttons - A Big Variety

If you are a blogger, whether serious or for fun, it benefits to join Twitter. It is a great way to network with other bloggers and to give announcements and links to new posts or giveaways. MomAdvice gave a great explanation of Twitter and how it benefits you to use it.

To make the most of Twitter, you should post a link to your Twitter page so that readers can follow you. There are several sites that offer free Twitter buttons. If they don't have a code for you to add, then you simply save the button as a picture and add to your site, including the hyperlink to your Twitter page (for example, mine is www.twitter.com/readingtofour).

Free Buttons and Graphics

Last night I found a really cool site, Penniwig's: Fr ee Graphics Daily and I feel like to found a gold mine! She has so many cool, interesting and adorable graphics and buttons - all FREE! These are things you can add to your side bar or to a post. And, while I was there I discovered her other free graphics site, Skull Blossom.

Penniwig's has graphics, buttons, post dividers (and more) for winter and spring. Skull Blossom has those same things but for the fall. Both sites include graphics for the holidays celebrated during those seasons.

Here are a few that I thought were too cute and hope to use in the future for my own blogs.

Designer Showcase: April Showers

The designer I am showcasing today is April Durham of April Showers. She is a very talented lady who kind of stumbled into blog design after several people liked the drawings she had done for her own blog.

After a little nudging from friends and clever marketing by her, the April Showers design studio was off and running! She works full time for a NBC affiliate and designs custom blog templates, headers and buttons in her spare time. Her blog and header designs are beautiful and unique, and are a great value!
