Sharing About Me, Tell Me About You...

Breaking away from blog design talk to share about me and find out about you!

Most of you who follow this blog do so for tutorials, designers lists and blog design giveaways, and probably know very little about me. Now, I am not that important to the value of Beautiful Blog Designs, but I thought some of you might like to know what I've been up to and what keeps me from hanging out there more. ;-)

365-88 Teaching Textbooks

During the school year I stay busy with homeschooling my four children. Their grades are 5th, 3rd, Kindergarten and preschool. We are very involved in various clubs like Chess and Lego.

365-58 Book Festival
On the weekends and some weekdays I do book fairs and booths for Usborne Books, educational children's books. Sometimes the kids go with me, sometimes not.

365-34 My New Toy
Whether I'm at home, at an Usborne event or at a homeschool function, I have one of my Nikon DSLRs with me. I picked up photography as a hobby after my dad died one year ago and it has been so very fulfilling for me.

Cow Tongue

Over at my personal blog, Moving Forward, I share lots and lots of pictures about all these things, plus life on a farm and occasionally share recipes.

365-36 Caramel Dip
So, what I want to know is what you've been blogging about lately. Also, I'd love to hear if and how your blog has evolved since you started it.

Moving Forward started out as a place to share about my mistakes and how I am learning from them. It is still kind of that, but mostly it's a place for me to share pictures daily and talk about what is going on in our life right now.

I've been blogging about sewing. I am currently taking a sewing class and am loving every second of it. My blog started out leaning towards scrapbooking, cardmaking and crafts. Since I started these classes I've been showcasing what I've accomplished. I would like to start doing tutorials also.

Thanks for sharing that with us Amanda, I've enjoyed getting to know a little more about you. I've not been blogging about much ately (on my personal blog) as I've just been super-busy, but UI'm going away for easter and intend on updating my personal blog while I'm away. Other than that, I've been updating my design blog...can always make time for that as it's way up there on my list of priorities.

Thank you all for sharing what you blog about. I love how one medium (blogging) can work for so many different people, in totally different ways.

Off to explore your blogs...

I originally started off thinking I would share about my faith and encourage women. I found out that such deep thoughts are not healthy for me AND I discovered a new love for decorating blogs and tweaking code. So.... I've recently made an entire new blog that is more lighthearted and incorporates the designing.

Thanks for sharing about yourself!

Your photos are gorgeous! I need to update my camera. I've always wanted to delve into photography but have never invested the time or money...yet.
I blog about my family and homeschooling resources. I'm not sure my blog has evolved much. I don't have the kind of time to devote to writing that I wish I could. When I blog a lot, I feel like I'm neglecting my parenting and homeschooling duties. When I don't blog much, I feel like I'm neglecting myself. It's a struggle to balance. I do love meeting other bloggers and making new friends. The support I've found in the blogging community is phenomenal!

Keep up the great work, Amanda. I don't know how you do it all...and do it so well.

I see Teaching Textbooks on the top picture. How do you all like that? This will be our first year homeschooling this fall, and my son will be in 5th grade. I'm trying to decide between Teaching Textbooks, Rightstart Math and MathUSee
